“It is reasonable for society to expect an adult to live temporarily with an inconvenience if the only alternative is killing a child.”

– Randy Alcorn

“The issue of life is not a political issue, nor is it a policy issue, it is a definitional issue. It is a basic core issue that every society needs to answer. The answer that you give to that issue ends up defining which kind of society you have.”

“For now, this abortion of reason has created the twentieth century equivalent of child sacrifice. In Old Testament times, it was the father who took the child to the priest, to be offered up to Baal: in America, it is the mother (and her lover) who now brings the sacrifice.”

23 percent reported hallucinations related to the abortion

MOST AMERICAN WOMEN ARE PRO-LIFE

A study done by Princeton Survey Research Associates reveals that the majority of American women (53 percent) are pro-life. Faye Wattleton, former head of Planned Parenthood and now head of the Center for Gender Equality at Princeton was shocked and declared the findings “very disturbing.” Fifty-three percent of women said that abortion should be illegal, except in the case of rape, incest, or if necessary to save the woman’s life- an eight percent shift away from a poll done on abortion rights two years ago. The study showed an 11 percent increase in women who pray daily, a six percent increase in women who placed great importance on religion in their lives, and a six percent increase in women who claimed to be born-again Christians. 16   The poll showed 76 percent of women think religious leaders and groups have a “somewhat” or “very positive” effect on the country>”17

“The Nazi government, unfortunately, was not confined within the borders of Germany, but also dominated the huge territories of the East including such countries as Poland, Hungary, Rumania, Czechoslovakia, Yugoslavia, and parts of Russia. It was here the Nazi government’s pro-abortion policies became far more blatant and extensive. The killing of the unborn was considered a high priority item in the overall program of genocide. Abortion, along with gassing, shooting, imposed starvation, and sterilization, functioned as potent weapons for reducing the so called “surplus” population perceived as genetically or socially useless.”

Abortion is touted as the safe, easy, efficient solution to a problem pregnancy. But today the evidence is mounting that abortion is often traumatic and distressing. A survey conduced by the Los Angeles Times found that more that half the women who have had an abortion feel “a sense of guilt.” More than one-fourth say the “mostly regret the abortion.”

Amazingly, the survey found that fathers of aborted children felt even worse. Two-thirds of the fathers said they felt guilt over the abortion; more than a third reported feelings of regret.

Abortion:

46 Million Abortions Every Year

A report issued by the Alan Guttmacher Institute reveals that:

38% of pregnancies around the world are unplanned

50% of all unplanned pregnancies end in abortion.

22% of the 210 million pregnancies around the world each year are terminated on average.

These statistics represent approximately 46 million abortions a year, worldwide.

“By abortion, the mother does not learn to love but kills even her own child to solve her problems. And by abortion, the father is told he does not have to take any responsibility at all for the child he has brought into the world…Any country that accepts abortion is not teaching its people to love to use any violence to get what they want. This is why the greatest destroyer of love and peace is abortion.”

On February 26, Ron Fitzsimmons, executive director of the (U.S.) National Coalition of Abortion Providers, announced he lied about the frequency of partial-birth abortion, and the reasons it is committed, during last year’s debate on banning the grisly “procedure” in the U.S. He now admits that, contrary to pro-abortion propaganda, the partial-birth method is used quite often, and, “in the vast majority of cases,” on healthy mothers and babies. Fitzsimmons, who continues to support abortion, made an even more startling admission: “(abortion) is a form of killing.” he said, “(it’s) ending a life>” Pro-abortion activists were dumbfounded, of course, and scrambled to do damage control. Opponents of partial-birth abortion have just raised the issue in Congress again. Fitzsimmons’ confession should strengthen their case considerabley.

Alberta doctors accept feticide

The Alberta College of Physicians and Surgeons has accepted a protocol that would allow “feticide,” the injection of a lethal dose of potassium chloride into the heart of a fetus before labour is induced. A spokesman for the college said that experts in the abortion field feel that it is safer for the patient if the fetus is dead before it is delivered. The procedure would be used only in late-term pregnancies where doctors are convinced the fetus is so malformed that it would not survive outside the womb. The policy paper indicates that the college is “mindful that there is diversity of opinion” and that “individual patients and physicians must decide upon their actions for themselves.”

Abortion Pill Coming to Canada?

Abortion on demand may be easier than ever with the likely availability of RU-486 in Canada early next year. The National Post reported. Exelgyn, manufacturer of the controversial abortion pill that allows a woman to induce a termination as early as the day after conception, announced it could apply to Health Canada for registration in the fall. Until now, the pill has only been available in France, where it was developed, but according to the post, Exelgyn is now on the worldwide market expansion, having recently registered with health authorities in eight European Union countries, as well as Switzerland and Russia. The Winnipeg Sun reported, meanwhile, that thirty-five percent of Canadian doctors are willing to provide abortions with RU-486 compared to only five percent willing to perform surgical abortions.

Statistics Canada reports over 100,000 abortions/year in Canada, not including the “morning-after pill” or abortions reported as other “medical procedures.”

Over 16% of Canadian women have had at least one abortion.

Almost 1/3 of abortions in Canada is a “repeat abortion.” The number is much higher among teens.

“Back in power only a few years after they were thrown out, the Communists have restored abortion on demand to Poland. (The previous Solidarity government had prohibited abortions under most circumstances. In the few years in which that law was in effect, the number of abortions decreased to a small fraction of what it had been previously.) Even though it is once again open season on children in the womb, it seems supporters of abortion have won a hollow victory: they can no longer find doctors willing to commit the bloody deed. Apparently, in the few years in which they got away from abortion. Polish doctors experienced an awakening of conscience, and realized the full horror of abortion. Medical societies across the country are now passing resolutions against abortion, on religious and ethical grounds.”

CLC News March 1997

“What RU486 will eventually mean, I fear, is a dramatic shift in the rules of the abortion battle. It will mean that our fight against abortion will no longer focus on the clinic, the dumpster, the Supreme Court steps. It will be relative and educations. Christian previously pressing the point among their peers that a life conceived is precious to God and must not be poisoned by a pill. The struggle will no longer be focused on legislature and suction machines, but on people and the individual values they hold, the values that creates their choices.
